Early 20th c. fishing themed bowl. Marked D2312. Depicts fisherman inspired by THE COMPLEAT ANGLER by Isaac (Izaak) Walton, first published in 1653. This bowl features five fishermen around the outside of the bowl underneath a willow tree border. On the inside rim of the bowl is the verse O THE GALLANT FISHER'S LIFE IT IS THE BEST OF ANY. PERCH OR PIKE. ROACH OR DACE. WE DO CHASE. Doulton backstamp on bottom. Item has some chips on the rim top and bottom. Additional pictures available upon request.
