The fan is approximately 25.5 cm long and approximately 41.5 cm wide when spread, the same type used by the chess players. From right to left, it features the calligraphy 奏 by Fujii Kisei and 調 by Sasaki 7-dan. Made by the Japan Shogi Association.

The calligraphy is printed. Please note that it is not handwritten.
