Brand new. Doesn't really matter the year you buy it for. I purchased one for my daughter and it was lost through the post office. She really wanted one so I bought another one. Ended up getting both the same day! My daughter is keeping hers (posted pictures of hers) I am selling the second one that came in. It hasn't been opened, sealed in a box. Not sure if the figurines are the same ones as my daughters, but I posted hers for reference.
