This pencil was purchased new and straight from Apple. Rarely used because my old iPad was 2nd generation and the screen is broken.

Before I could get my iPad fixed, I was gifted a newer 4th gen iPad for Christmas, which this pen doesn’t work for. I had this pen for about 3 months till I got my new device.

Works great, no issues, and charges fast.
