My mother gave to me 64 years ago (yes, I am an Antique, too); I have never used. It still has powder in it and a mirror and a felt case. There is the name “Meda” engraved on the front as well as a finely engraved Owl with
BRIGHT Green eyes and feathers. Custom made in Peru for my Uncle
Alastair, a Scottish diplomat in Lima.”. Don’t know what Meda means or how long he had it.? If you clean out the powder compartment, it would make a great “stash” or hiding place for Money, pills, gemstones, whatever. Stamped Sterling. Eyes could be small emeralds or jade or tourmaline—-The inside mirror has some staining of something (water?) but one can still see about 75-80%. Fully functional closure. The outer silver surfaces are in need of a polish which I am leaving to the buyer. There are very minute scratches which would polish out nicely. It is definitely a VERY unique
piece especially if MEDA means something or you love Owls!
