French plates illustrating the various stages of courtship using the language of love. Each plate has flower and a French sentence that has been roughly translated into English below:
'daisy': He loves me a little passionately.
'orange blossom': If my wife is a rose, I can say that I am her rose bush.
'poppy': Big beast, don't cry like that, I tell you that I'm marrying you.
'blue delicacy': Hands off, it stains.
'white rosebuds': Heart that ignores love ~or~ Love, what is that?
'hollyhock': I want to have a dozen.
***Very good condition. The 'daisy' plate is crazed and has 2 rough spots. The 'orange blossom' plate has a rough spot. There may be crazing on other pieces. See pictures. No original box.***
